Living Arts is assembled into a series of MONOLITHIC domes. Each has clear span sight lines two stories tall, but most activity takes place on a ground floor level. There are no posts and most areas display an open feeling having only limited ceiling areas.
The LIVING ARTS MONOLITHIC DOMES help deliver …
● A green, energy efficient space - The thick concrete and steel rebar construction acts as a thermal storage battery. This high density space is a supreme insulator setting the College apart with substantial protection from the elements including hurricanes.

● Studio options for faculty/student sharing - Open space, U-shaped seating means an instructor can move quickly from student to student. There’s no opportunity to hide behind another student.

● A theater to show off their creativity - It’s a rare experience anywhere, experiencing the dynamic walls of sound coming from STARS Theater on campus. The JBL Cinema-array sound system of 21 speakers positioned over all four walls makes it very special. The work created here receives the benefit of this show off theater. Think about this—the surround sound multi amp, multi speaker system is fed from the main console on just one CAT5 cable.

● B2R—the sound studio that’s Born to Rock - In Dome B, the audio engineering staff manages a boutique recording and mixing studio. In many ways it’s like a few signature recording studios the world over. Here, you’ll find the top of the line Solid State Logic DUALITY console. It’s the supreme combination of analog and digital processing—switchable at the tap of a button.

● Filmmaking is bigger without video cameras - The film program here is bigger because Living Arts film production utilizes only large image sensor cameras. This means cinema style shooting is seen with the layered look of shallow depth of field—selective focus. The camera group at Living Arts includes the breakthrough Arri ALEXA and the Sony CINE-ALTA family …plus the even newer Sony FS100 systems. Living Arts is the first film program worldwide to purchase the ALEXA.
● Checking out the future today - It’s a way of life. There is seldom a week that goes by that the staff here isn’t examining, researching, testing or planning adding technology or creative systems to the programs. Current work includes curriculum looks at 3D production, developing additional support for Greenlight production, expanding effects for wireless digital signage … and the list goes on. It all adds up to an unique STUDIO ARTS CAMPUS that’s always focused on the future.

Established since 1992
Living Arts College was founded in 1992 by a team of creativity professionals who believed that the studio arts is all about storytelling. Then as now, they believed that creative professionals are in demand when they think beyond Photoshop and start using the tools in powerful ways to impact audiences to entertain, inform and train. The digital studio arts program series here is about applying imagination in the real world! Providing a studio challenge in hands-on study takes priority over lengthy theory classroom sessions.
