The Interior Design program at Living Arts College covers the basic TEXTILES & MATERIALS you will likely encounter as a professional Interior Designer. Details count, and a deeper understanding of various textiles, covers, and finishing materials will add to your professional worth as an interior decorator.
As an Interior Designer, you will often be required to "sell" the research, designs, and minute details that have gone into the various projects you have created in the studio. Before graduating from the School of Interior Design at Living Arts College, you will learn valuable PRESENTATION TECHNIQUES. You have prepared your concepts, sourced your materials, finishes, and pieces of furniture to create a truly magnificent space, but what now? Our dedicated faculty will teach you the skills you will need to organize and present your entire design concept(s) to potential clients.
The Interior Design program at Living Arts College goes beyond basic lighting and fixtures to include an architectural approach to lighting design, including complex work in commercial space, exhibits, restaurants, and showrooms. Interior Design students will master the art of light design as they continue to augment their skillsets and grow as an Interior Designer.

Building codes specify the minimum requirements for safeguarding the public health, safety, and welfare of occupants within a building. Codes are necessary because there is no universal baseline for creating safe environments with any predictability, process, or governance. Plan to gain a working knowledge of the International Building Code at the School of Interior Design at Living Arts College.
It's time to realize your potential as an Interior Designer at the School of Interior Design. To discover professional success, you will need to build a core understanding of construction principles and best practices. This skillset includes frame building, partitions, fabrication options using a variety of materials, and much more. Electrical, HVAC, plumbing essentials,specifications, and installation are a few more vital skills you will learn as an aspiring Interior Decorator and Designer at the School of Interior Design at Living Arts College.
Our Interior Design program also includes COMMERCIAL DESIGN. Commercial, sometimes referred to as contract design, focuses on master design, team coordination, early planning, and budgeting. Contract elements include specifying and purchasing furnishings and coordinating the installation of interior environments for commercial, government or educational spaces.
The Kitchen and Bath Interior Design focus at Living Arts College is a detailed program that examines a variety of design elements to help our students maximize the impact of their finished interior spaces. Design elements include Custom Closets, Laundry Rooms, Custom Counter Tops, Window and Door Replacements, Bookcases, Basements, Home Theater, Fireplaces, Room Additions, Trim & Case Work, Custom Shower Doors, and Designer Tile Back Splashes.
Students enrolled in the Interior Designer program at Living Arts College will also add SUSTAINABLE DESIGN to his/her skillset. Sustainable design goes beyond traditional design techniques and focuses on the technology that contributes to the protection of resources. Students will learn how to develop practical Sustainable Design solutions in a studio environment. An environmentally responsible professional is committed to diminishing a project's negative impact on the community.
